Business owner of 25 years in Huntington Beach, California, Sonya Green’s sole dream was to help people be the best they can be and build unity within one’s community. With that goal in mind, she established her own staffing company, now called WorkLand Staffing, rebranded after losing her brother in 2020. Sonya has been successful at placing over 25,000 people into gainful employment.
Sonya’s community involvement includes serving as a Representative for the Huntington Beach Republican Assembly (HBRA), Founder of the community forum “Patriots for Freedom,” and Authorized Personnel for Recall Gavin 2020. She is also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Huntington Beach and World Outdoor Racquetball Club. As a business owner, Sonya was awarded 2-time Entrepreneur of the Year by the Orange County Business Journal, awarded by EDD “Most Placed of Unemployed Individuals,” and awarded the One-Stop Dislocated Aerospace Workers Project, where she placed numerous displaced Aerospace workers. Sonya has been a long-time advocate for the homeless and veterans, and frequently places unemployed U.S. Military Veterans into gainful employment, easing the transition into civilian life.
Sonya has been vocal about the mishandling of our judicial system, educational indoctrination, political fractures, budget mismanagement, government overreach and the disregard for our beloved Constitution.
Sonya ran for Huntington Beach City Council in 2020. She did so only after finding out that the City Council forced beaches to be closed during the pandemic, an unnecessary action and prime example of government overreach. It was a successful campaign as a first-time runner, garnering nearly 12,000 votes. After the election, Sonya doubled down on her efforts to serve the community. She has been vocal about uniting after the Presidential Election and OC Board of Supervisors Special Election. Sonya’s focus is to unite the great people of her city, county and state under God first and with respect for all people and communities. Sonya represents the large majority of Huntington Beach residents who seek action on critical issues and resolution to growing problems in the area. Due to an outpouring of support before and after the 2020 election, Sonya is running for Huntington Beach City Council in 2022.
Sonya is a mother of 5 and member of Calvary Chapel of the Harbour.
